The illustrations, although designed to enhance the story, were not created to tell the story, but instead to encourage children to use their own imaginations in order to better see themselves in the story. Ali M. Ehly resides with her husband in the picturesque rolling hills and valleys of the farmlands in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. She grew up in the Catskill Mountains of New York where her love of the outdoors became deeply embedded. The wilderness is still where she feels the most at peace and connected to God.
