Foster O. Lauver (1885-1953) married Emma Horst and raised 5 children in Lancaster Co., Pa. Foster was the paternal grandfather of the author, who has taken the time to accumulate pictures and stories of the Lauver family—mainly focusing the book on Foster. She has written the book so others can know and remember that their Lauver ancestors were ordinary people—mostly farmers, tradesmen, and laborers—men and women who worked together.
