Sarah in the Village is based on the childhood of Sarah Pauls Durksen, the author’s maternal grandmother. These stories take place in the village of Alexanderthal in southern Russia in the Mennonite Molotschna Colony during the years 1904 and 1905. The author grew up hearing her mother, Clara Durksen Schnupp, tell many stories of Christian faith and love from her heritage and she longs to pass her grandmother’s childhood stories down the generations. This is Book #1 in the “Mennonite Girl from Russia” Series. (129pp. illus. Masthof Press, 2020.)
