This is a directory and business advertiser for the entire state of Pennsylvania in 1866-67. The business directory information is arranged by town, and lists businesses / business people alphabetically providing the name, trade and address of each. Each town is given a brief descriptive sketch, with larger towns including much more detail. There are also business ads throughout.

According to the title page, this is a publication "containing the names and location of merchants, manufacturers, professional and business men generally, throughout the state, properly indexed, classified and arranged. Also, a list of post offices in the state, alphabetically arranged according to the counties; a Philadelphia street index, ect." The directory begins with an alphabetical listing of Philadelphia's streets, followed by the Philadelphia section of the business directory. After Philadelphia, the remainder of the state is covered. Both sections are arranged alphabetically by trade and list the name of the business operation, its street address and town. There are occasional business ads throughout.
