While Delaware Co. was only established in 1789, some of Pa.'s oldest settlements can be found here. Over 4,500 births are recorded. Each entry lists the family name; name of the infant; date of birth or baptism; names of both parents; maiden name of mother if given; and the source where the information was found. Records used for this compilation were found in four Quaker Monthly Meetings (1681-1684), and two Protestant Episcopal Church registers. The Quaker records are among the oldest registers for Friend's Meetings in Pennsylvania and they include information on many early Quaker immigrant families. (117pp. hardcover. Author, 1995.)
