This book originally appeared in German in 1895 and now has been translated into English. Muller was an ordained minister in the Reformed Church in Switzerland in 1874, but served as a pastor in the Emmental region of Canton Bern where Anabaptists had established congregations. His thorough research of the Anabaptists gives detailed accounts of their persecution, imprisonment, suffering, sale as galley slaves, and expulsion from Swiss soil. (504pp. illus. index. hardcover with jacket, Pathway Pub., 2010.)
