Yvonne K. Kimmel

  • 5000

A visual tour with over 200 color photographs of American and European landmarks as well as documentation beginning in Zurich, Switzerland, in the 1500s tells the story of the author's ancestry, and their migration routes to places such as Montbeliard, France, and Steinsfurt, Germany, prior to their immigration to America in the mid 1600s to 1700s. From various Protestant denominations, their stories merge in the company of Swiss Reformer Huldrych Zwingli and Conrad Grebel, leader of the Anabaptists. Also featured are the Waldensians, intertwined with both groups. In addition, portraits and landscapes from personal collections and selections from the Moravian Archives tell the story of the next two hundred years as they make their homes in Colonial America. (384pp. color illus. index. Masthof Press, 2019.)

This is Book 2 of the Zwingli series. Also available is Zwingli, Volume I (item #4213) and The Samuel Fox Diary (item #4113).
