Daniel A. Graham

  • 2500

Founded in 1761 by ironmaster John Potts and originally known as Potts Grove, Pottstown is located in Montgomery Co., Pa., at the confluence of the Manatawny Creek and the Schuylkill River. Strategically positioned on the river and the "Great Road" between Reading and Philadelphia and in the center of Pennsylvania's colonial iron industry, its early growth and success were guaranteed. Pottstown's story is told here through a number of biographical and historical sketches involving its history and famous individuals who lived there. (353pp. color illus. index.
