This mythical creature is hunted from Shartlesville to Stouchsburg, Klapperthal to Blattadahl, Joanna to Jalappa and beyond! The traditional hunting of the elfedrich is a custom well over a century old. The elfedrich, also called an elbedritzel, eldergrizzler, elderritsch and so on, is like a snipe in a snipe hunt—someone is left holding a sack and waiting for a creature that doesn't show up. This activity, popular in the Pennsylvania Dutch country, can take place on Elfedrich Day (Nov. 13) or any time at all! (12"x12" on cardstock. Masthof Press, 2014.)
