Commemorating 160 Years of Mennonite Hymns CD

James K. Nolt Family

  • 1295

Hymns provide an enjoyable opportunity for worshipping God and transmitting truth and faith. This CD takes hymns from the first Mennonite hymnbook published in English in 1847. The tunes on the CD all come from The Philharmonia, which was published in 1875, and are sung a cappella by the James Nolt family. There are 17 songs which include: "Come Children of Zion," "My Saviour, My Almighty Friend," "See From Zion's Sacred Mountain," "Help Thy Servant, Gracious Lord," "Father, I Stretch My Hands to Thee," "Prayer Is the Soul's Sincere Desire," "Hark! What Mean Those Holy Voices," "Hearts of Stone, Relent," "Sing to the Lord, Ye Heavenly Hosts," "Depth of Mercy!," "Begone Unbelief!," "Jesus, I My Cross Have Taken," "Come, Let Us Anew," "Tell Me, Saviour, From Above," "I Would Not Live Always," "Ere I Sleep," and "Asleep in Jesus." (CD. James Nolt, 2008.)
