Dr. John Mylin (1767-1856) was a 19th-century Lancaster Co., Pa., veterinarian. He was the son of Hans Mylin and Veronica Eshleman, and the grandson of Martin Mylin and Anna Herr. Dr. Mylin spent a lifetime serving his neighbors in Lancaster Co., providing them with powders and cures for their animals. His ledger has been transcribed for the benefit of those interested in vintage animal husbandry as well as family history, since he often made references about his customers. Over eighty 19th-century cures and recipes are included. (110pp. illus. index. Author, 2007.)
