Left Behind on the North Dakota Prairie
Subtitled "Story of a Little Amish-Mennonite, Catholic Boy," this is a true story of adoption and one man’s search for his Amish-Mennonite birth family. Robert Richter was born in North Dakota in 1941 when his grandfather, Bishop Isaac S. Mast, was director of the Casselton Mission. Instead of growing up in the Mast family, Robert was adopted by a German-Catholic couple. After his son passed away from an inherited disease in 1978, Robert spent decades searching for his birth family, finally meeting his Mast siblings in 2016. (86pp. color illus. Author, 2019.)
